Lui Simpson is Executive Vice President, Global Policy for the Association of American Publishers (AAP). In this role, she directs the association’s engagement with the U.S. and foreign governments, as well as international organizations, on copyright, technology, competition, and international trade policy issues, provides analysis and guidance for the association and members on a variety of policy initiatives, and manages the association’s content protection program. She chairs AAP’s Committee on International Strategies and also serves as AAP’s representative to several domestic and international industry coalitions in pursuing shared policy and enforcement objectives.
Lui sits on the Board of Directors of the International Intellectual Property Alliance, and served as President in 2021 and 2022. She likewise serves on the Copyright Committee of the International Publishers Association (2011-Present) as well as on its Copyright Policy Working Group (2019-Present).
She holds a Bachelor of Laws degree (LL.B.), and a Master of Laws degree in International and Comparative Law.
