Graduated in Political Science and Public Administration from the National Autonomous University of Mexico with a Master’s in Latin American Studies, Patricia has developed her professional career in the publishing field.
At the beginning of her professional career, Patricia worked as a teacher and researcher at UNAM, an evaluator at the Educational Materials Department of the SEP, and an author in various publications, such as textbooks for secondary education.
In the publishing industry, she has worked since 1989 in different positions in the area of editing, specializing in the publication of books, materials and digital platforms for the world of education: as an editor at the Encyclopedia of Mexico; editor and editorial manager at Limusa (Mexican company); editorial director at Ediciones SM (Spanish), and currently at Macmillan Education (English/German). She has worked in this company for more than 16 years: first she served as editorial director and general director at Ediciones Castillo (the Group’s curricular line), and since 2020 she has been in charge of the regional management for the Group’s two brands (Macmillan Education and Ediciones Castillo) in Mexico, Peru & the Andean Region, and Colombia & Central America.
In the publishing industry, she has had an active participation in the National Chamber of the Publishing Industry as part of the Board of Directors of that institution in three periods: 2012-2014, 2015-2017 and 2020-2023. She was president of the Executive Committee of Textbooks of this institution from 2019-2022. In 2018 she received the Guild Merit Award from the Chamber.
